Minutes of previous meeting

The only query was regarding the minutes was from D Mc regarding the last paragraph of the previous meeting minutes. D Mc asked if there had been a vote on this subject. CB told him there had not been on that evening but was the general feeling of the committee from earlier in the year when the village hall committee got dragged into the issue of two bowling clubs using the village hall.

CB proposed the minutes and AT seconded the minutes.

Items Arising.

At the previous meeting the heating system was making a lot of noise. PN told the committee he was with the heating engineers when they came to fix it. They were on site for approximately 2 hrs. While the engineers were on site PN asked them if obtaining parts for our boilers was still easy. They informed PN that the village hall boiler was a standard boiler for village halls and that parts were easy to obtain. CB thanked PN for helping out.

Fund raising

Next Event                  Valentines Ball

AT told the committee that 100 tickets had now being sold and all the menu selections made. CB, AT & BT went through the jobs rota leading up to the event and during the event.

CB thanked AT & BT for all the hard work, which they had put into this event.

Spring gardens dance

The next event is 22nd April Spring Gardens festival.

RJK read out a brief outline of what the spring gardens committee would like putting on.

PT has advised RJK that he has booked the band beauty and the beast for the event. RJK was to get some prices put together for the buffet and to discuss in greater detail at the next meeting.

Car park

Parish Council contribution

RJK informed the committee that the parish Council had invited the members of the village hall committee o attend the next parish council meeting to explain why the resurfacing of the car park had gone over budget. PT is to write a letter to the PC explaining the details and SW is attending in person to represent the village hall committee.

Car park marking

The committee took a vote on the most appropriate colour to use on the car park. The majority of the committee voted to use white as the most practical colour. A supplier of RJK is going to lend us a wheel marker to put the lines down. Cans of aerosols are £11 and should treat approx 75 linear meter.

CB proposed that we get the marking done ASAP.

Village Draw

RJK handed round details of a proposed village draw, which is to be organised by Caroline Bligh and benefit Fogos, the Church and the Village hall. The committee voted unamisioly to support the draw and sell the tickets. CB to inform Caroline Bligh of our support for the draw.

AOB

PN pointed out that the displayed licence is currently out of date. RJK to get a copy of the current licence sorted out.

RJK asked both bowling clubs if they could forward the winter dates to the chairman asap so the committee can review.
