Minutes of previous meeting

 

The minutes were approved providing the new village hall price structure was added to the back of them.

 

Items arising

 

There we no items arising.

 

Sound Loop

 

PT only has had one quote in so far. More quotes to follow.

RJK informed the committee that he has being looking into getting a grant from WREN to fund this project.

RJK to get in touch with local WREN contact and discuss.

Will up date at next meeting.

 

Window Repairs

 

Mr Ramling is scheduling this into his work programme.

 

Hire Agreement

 

PT showed the committee a draft village hall agreement. The committee felt it needed to be no longer than 4 pages which include appendix for the use of the bar facility etc.

PT intends to have mock version for the next meeting

Village Hall Extension

 

DB & PT had a meeting with Jeff Gill regarding the extension. No real outcome. DB informed the committee that the cricket club have not decided as a club as to what they want going forward. DB to organise the cricket club so we can get there opinion and move forward when they no what they want to do.

Entertainment Licence

 

RJK informed the committee that he is booked on course to do the personnel licence course on Tuesday 26th July. Once this has being passed we can then apply for the new licence.

RJK will up date at the next meeting.

 

Village Hall Car park

 

RJK handed the committee a quotation for re-surfacing the car park. The quotes ranged from £9494 -£7614. RJK asked KS in the VHMC raised half the funds would the Parish Council provide half the funds. KS is to raise this at the next PC meeting and report back our next meeting.

 

Fund Raising Ideas

 

PT asked at the previous meeting for fund raising ideas. The village hall is going to require quite a lot of cash for on going repairs over the next decade. Having regular functions, which are well priced, should help raise some essential cash and bring various parts of the village together

 

Suggestions

 

Hold a function of some sort every quarter

Summer ball         (I think it is the halls 20th anniversary next year will find out exact date for the next meeting)

Race Night

Cabaret Night

Sponsor a SQ meter of the new car park

Wine Tasting

Beer festival

Pledge Auction

Additional Coffee Mornings

Car Boot

 

The committee agreed that we should put some dates in the dairy and start fund raising ASAP.

 

September 11th for a car boot at the village hall

October 8th at the village hall for a Saturday night event.

 

PT asked RJK if he would email round the committee two idea sheet which can be pulled together for the next meeting were we can finalise the format and who does what etc.

JE said that herself an AT were going to raskelf village hall to look at the false roof and would report back hopefully with photos as to what it looked like.
